Intro to Dressmaking


If you would love to make your own clothes but don’t know where to start, we are going right back to basics and building up your confidence so you can pick up a pattern and get started.

We breakdown all the technical jargon into simple terms and teach you about fabric types, sewing tools and equipment. You will learn how to read a pattern including notches, seam layouts and straight of grain. We will also practice sewing the perfect dart!

This is a practical class and we provide all the materials you need so you can get the hang of things. You will also be given expert shopping advice so you know what to look for when choosing your first projects.

We provide:
• Pfaff Ambition Sewing Machines
• Scissors, practice fabric and thread
• Refreshments including homemade cake

You need to bring:
• A notepad and pen

Course Duration: 3 hours

Skill Level - Complete Beginner
Aimed at someone who has never sewn before or someone who is very rusty and wants to build their confidence up again
