This 5 week course is a perfect introduction to the world of sewing. You will learn how to use a sewing machine and put your skills into practice to complete some simple yet beautiful projects.

You will learn -
•how to set up the sewing machine and wind the bobbin
•how to sew seams
•how to use decorative stitches
•how to use a pattern and cut out fabric on the straight grain
•how to hem
•how to insert a zip
•how to attach bias binding


We provide:

•Scissors, tools, threads and patterns
•Refreshments including home-made cake!

You need to bring:

Week 1: Introduction
Just yourself! You will be learning your way around the sewing machine.

Week 2: Simple Lapped Cushion
Half a meter of cotton fabric

Week 3: Cosmetic Bag
Two fat quarters and a 10" zip.

Week 4: Tote bag
1m cotton fabric for your tote bag (or if you would like to use a contrast lining - 1/2m outer fabric and 1/2m lining fabric).

Week 5: Peg/Storage Bag
2x Fat quarters and 1m bias binding

All fabrics and notions can be purchased in our lovely shop. We can assist you in your choices and there is a 15% discount on everything purchased for the course.
